My New XP-Pen Artist 12 Display Tablet

My very first sketch with Akira Bright (my mascot for gamewaifus.com) on my new XP-Pen Artist 12.

Akira Bright drawn on XP-Pen Artist 12 - sketch #0001

Well, I finally pulled the trigger and got myself a display tablet for drawing. I couldn’t pass up on the 10% off coupon on Amazon when I was looking at the XP-Pen Artist 12 page here. Right under its price tag (of $249.99) it had the coupon offer display (that seems to appear at random?). I only ended up paying $224.99. Free shipping and no state tax, woo! It even arrived TWO days later!

I had wanted a display tablet like this one for years but they were always unnecessarily expensive. This one has a 4 star review and recommended by an amazing artist on YouTube. That man and other artists like MeguBunnii and Sarah Meadows have inspired me a lot lately.

From basic drawing tablet to a drawing display tablet

I have a Wacom tablet as well. I never liked it. I probably only drew 10 times on it. Drawing on a none display while looking at the computer monitor was so unnatural and frustrating. But as soon as I starting drawing on this display tablet, the difference is night and day. For basic tablets, you have to learn to draw all over again. That’s way too time consuming and unnecessary.

I plan to practice every weekday. I hope that I do. I’ll draw my original characters, game characters (mostly from Nintendo, obviously) and some from anime shows.
